Founded by Mariam Syed in 2009, A Piedi was launched out of a desire for a line of shoes that are as elegant as they are effortless. As a mother of four children, Mariam found that heels were no longer an option in her busy day-to-day life, yet she wanted footwear which made her feel polished. Drawing on her family heritage of leather craftmanship, she decided to create her own solution; a collection of flats that were classic, chic and ultra-comfortable.
Based in London, Mariam works closely with her brother in Pakistan, where each shoe is crafted in their family-owned leather factory.
Worn and loved by fashion-conscious women around the world, including respected influencers and the fashion press, the brand has developed a loyal customer following. A Piedi is known for its signature styles, while a small number of new designs are introduced each year.
A Piedi is committed to minimising our impact on the earth. Every A Piedi shoe is hand-crafted by a team of expert artisans in a factory in Pakistan that has been owned and run by the family of A Piedi founder, Mariam Syed, for three generations.
Since its foundation, A Piedi has focused on sustainable, ethical design. Collections are made in small quantities, with designs available on a made-to-order basis once sold out. Leather is used thoughtfully, often across several different designs, minimising waste, while artisan techniques ensure skills are passed down through generations and styles which endure the test of time.
A Piedi cares deeply about humanity and the planet we inhabit. The brand launched two initiatives dedicated to making a difference and will continually strive to look for ways that we can give back to our local communities - both in the UK and Pakistan - and the world at large.
In response to the ongoing global pandemic, A Piedi founder Mariam Syed launched a range of shoes designed to be worn both indoors and outside. 100% of the proceeds from the collection are donated to Refuge charity.
Launched in 2019, 100% of the proceeds from every Willow shoe sold are donated to Crisis UK. A national charity working to end homelessness in the UK.
