Mirame

Founded by Helen Nicholls, with the desire to celebrate and a nostalgic family tradition, Mirame is a new brand to the market, founded in 2020.

The story behind the brand starts with a pair of shoes worn by Helen’s father whilst travelling around Spain in the 1970’s. Affectionately naming them ‘tyre shoes’ due to their rubber soles instead of the traditional Avarca name, they remained companions to the family throughout her childhood.

The brand continues to celebrate the timeless nostalgic quality and the traditional Menorcan Avarca today. Every pair are handcrafted on the island of Menorca by skilled artisans. The Mirame brand comes with the ‘Avarca de Menorca’ guarantee, which protects the Avarca name, the artisans on the island who handcraft the shoes and the quality of the shoe. Mirame values the importance of slow ethical fashion with no mass production and are made to order where possible.
