Most will agree that the Amalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful places on earth, which is why it attracts many visitors. We’ve taken time to explore and test many dining locations along the scenic coastline, and share our local secrets, so you can enjoy a great Italian culinary experience and avoid the crowds.
It’s a bit of the trek, but if you book a table at this farmhouse, you’ll be rewarded with excellent food and stunning views over the bay of Minori. Run by a delightful couple, Vincenzo and Maria, the restaurant is based within the Villa Maria estate and is made even more special with the home grown produce that is cooked by Maria herself. Surrounded by an ancient lemon grove, with intoxicating scents of citrus blossoms, and the villa’s vegetable garden, the couples homemade hams and salami are as much of a delight as their own pressed wine from local grapes.
There are limited tables, so it’s always best to book in advance.

Situated within the rocky cove of Laurito, is the beach front restaurant Da Adolfo. Only accessible by foot or by boat, the restaurant ferries guests from the port in Positano with its prominent red fish flag. But don’t be surprised, despite limited means of access, its’ a very popular choice, so be sure to book at least 2 weeks ahead.
Serving fresh grilled fish, on a secluded beach and the overly relaxed atmosphere, Da Adolfo will somehow keep you there for hours! It’s worth making a day of it and to spend some time on the beach afterwards. The boat picks up from the port from 10am until 2pm and brings you back around 4pm.

If you want to find a true local Italian restaurant to escape the tourist waterfront cafes, then Il Gozzo is the perfect gem. Set in the ancient village of Salerno, specializing with homemade pasta and seafood dishes. Beautifully presented, each plate is like a work of art and very instagramable! We recommend the seared octopus in yellow and red datterine cream, enriched with black olive ash as well as the Crust tuna with Teryiaki sauce. But leave room for desert, as the menu is full of magical treats.
You’ll be overwhelmed with the friendly atmosphere and intimate table settings inside and out.
With a selection of the finest fish, Il Gozzo is the place for the seafood and pasta lover. A true culinary experience with the added bonus of gluten free and vegetarian dishes too.
