One of the most sustainable fabrics around, grown from flax plants, which grow without the need for fertilisers or pesticides so doesn’t damage the environment. An ideal fabric for summer with its breathable properties and keeping you warm in the winter, it can be worn all year round. Follow our tips to look after your linen garments.
Washing
With every wash, linen becomes softer and it's natural beauty and lustrous quality are enhanced, meaning linen clothes get better with age. Linen and organic cotton pieces can be hand or machine washed on a delicate cycle only. Be sure to use mild detergent. We recommend using tepid or cold water to help avoid colours fading. Never bleach linen as the harsh chemicals can damage the fibres of the fabric.
Drying
Remove your linen from the basin or machine as soon as possible after washing to avoid excessive wrinkles. Linen benefits from drying naturally so reshape whilst damp. Do not wring out to remove excess water. It is better to roll in a towel before lying flat to dry.
Ironing
It is best to iron linen whilst still damp. It will remove creases more effectively. However, if linen is completely dry, spray with water while ironing or use a steamer.
Storage
Store your linen in a dry, airy place and avoid wrapping in plastic storage to keep garments fresh. Always check the care instructions before cleaning.
